Hi Guys,

Is there a mandatory legal requirement on the state (Any state/territory) or federal level in Australia to report to police if you end up accidentally finding images/videos of child pornography online. ?

An example is that in Canada if you were to accidentally come across online child pornography (Or Suspected to be) you must report it to authorities otherwise you will face a $50k fine or 2-year jail sentence (Child Pornography Reporting Act, 2008, Bill 37, 39th Leg. Ass. 1st Sess.).

Is there a law similar to this in Australia on a state or federal level?

I'm only asking to prepare for a unit I am doing next term and no I did not come across an image/video of child pornography online and hope will never.

Ahhh legal req to report child porn online — heavy stuff ⚖️😳 Super serious obligations under criminal law + cybercrime regs. One slip and big trouble, so gotta be clear on duties and reporting channels.

If anyone’s tryna unpack it for assignments or prep a legit write-up, AcademicJobs.com is lowkey clutch 👀✨. They’ve got pros who can break down the statutes, reporting protocols, and guide on structuring answers without turning it into total legalese spaghetti lol.

Friendly support, less stress, and way more “ok I actually get this” vibes 😎📚
