My ex wife and I took out a margin loan against our mortgage to invest in shares a few years ago. We have since been legally separated for 18 months and the mortgage was transferred over to me. I have tried to close that investment account and she would like half the money. Is she she actually entitled to that considering that the debt is now mine? We also loaned her brother $6K for a business venture that is still running and apparently turning a profit. and there isn't any sign of him paying it back, he also lived with us for 2 years rent free. We had a parenting agreement that was finalised in mediation that was never adhered to on her behalf. I never pursued because of the damage it might do, and they are older now but they were 16 and 14 at the time. What are my options?
