I see it’s been a while since you’ve posted, but I just want to ask—has anyone had more recent run-ins with security outside clubs or bars? Keen to know if anything’s changed around how far they can go when they’re off the venue’s actual property. I’ve seen guards get pretty pushy lately and wondering what others have experienced or what you did in that situation.

From what I learned during my Bodyguard training, security guards don't have the same powers as police, so they can't physically search you without permission or detain you unless it's a citizen's arrest under specific circumstances. Outside a venue, they can refuse you entry or ask you to leave, but if you haven't committed an offence, they can't force you to stay or search your belongings.
