What are the rights of security guards outside of licensed premises?

If a security guard believes you stole a bottle of liqour when you had legitimately purchased it and tries to take it off you by crash tackling you from behind and when you resist you are charged with common assault.

I had been at the venue and when I was leaving i got a bottle of liqour out of my backpack that I purchased earlier at BWS. I had left the premises when security guard crash tackled me. The venue later admitted they did not stock that item behind bar and I did not steal it.

Police did not charge security guard despite my request.

Hi Atticus,

It is set for hearing in October.

Notebook interview when they arrested me. Police refused to take my statement.

Asked for video but they stated no video exists which is laughable.

Pub is part of alh group.

Any further help please? Cause of action etc.
Without evidence, you have nothing.
But then, neither do they.
Instead of wasting your time on a private prosecution with no prospects,
focus instead on thing like a subpoena on the pub for the/ any footage.

I have subpeoned them. One question: ALH Pty Ltd is on subpeona instead of ALH Ltd. They own both companies. Will that mistake stop them responding?

Well then, I guess the Duty Manager and the bottle shop counter staff won't mind being summonsed to give evidence in person.
