QLD Caught with 1g of mdma

So I messed up quite obviously and was caught with 1g of mdma. It’s my first ever offence aside from a minor speeding ticket. I had recently booked a working holiday in Canada and also plan on joining the navy in the future. I guess my question is my dreams over? I imagine the criminal conviction will deny my Canadian visa and the navy probably don’t want people with that on their record. Appreciate any advice.

Depending on your scenario, you may not even receive a criminal record.
-If it is a supply charge you may want to consider pleading not guilty and review the material.
-
If it is a possession charge you may hire a lawyer and potentially have no criminal record.

Potentially a stupid question, but as this is Australia, I'd imagine that 1g is cut with all sorts of stuff and is probably 5% MDMA 95% crushed up Nodoze. A lot of MDMA tablets have actually zero MDMA in them. So if it's not 100% MDMA and therefore not 1g, can you not challenge it?

Not a stupid question at all and actually a very good one.

The percentage doesn’t matter. You could mx a kilo of flour with one gram of cocaine and you are being charged with a kilo. Yes, an extreme example.
