I sent an gift to someone anonymously to just try and cheer them up , I didn't put my name because the person doesn't like me, but I just did it out of the goodness from my heart, now I'm wondering is it illegal and wat if they get angry and go to the police, this is the only time I have sent anything so it's not stalking lol, just a once off gift. Is it legal to send anonymous gifts under Australian Law?

Hi there,

There doesn't appear to be any reason for you to worry here.

This sounds like a lovely thing to do. Assuming the gift is not threatening or perceived as dangerous, it seems like a nice thought and the gift receiver will most likely interpret it as this. If they are concerned, it might be a good gesture to send them an email/letter explaining your reasons behind the gift, why you decided to leave it anonymous and that you meant no harm or bad will in the act.

Hope the other person is cheered up!
