Hi
I have 2 questions...
I have an almost 15-year-old daughter. When she was 5, I got a lifetime exemption from claiming child support due to ongoing violence and safety issue. This wiped his 4000 debt.
My daughter has now gone off the rails and after 6 months of running away she has decided to live with him. He is a long term unemployed with an extensive history in crime and a past on other drugs. But child safety deem it suitable.
First question is, will the exemption stop him from being able to claim from me?
Second question: I pay $200 a month off her braces payment plan. This was due to a cranio facial condition not just cosmetic so was necessary. Can this be taken off the amount I am assessed to pay?
