About a month ago I was travelling with an Australian resident to Indonesia where he stole my passport, my ID, driver's licence and bank card. Before he did that he threatened, sexually harassed and injured me. I was not able to return to Australia due to not having a passport and I'm now back in Germany. In Indonesia I reported my lost passport. He threatened me to not tell the Indonesian police that he actually stole it. He went back to Australia immediately. In Australia he was still in the possession of my belongings. Which is the best option to press charges in this case?

Difficult situation.

Australia won't prosecute him for a crime he allegedly did in Indonesia - they don't have jurisdiction.
Indonesia won't be very interested in prosecuting him for a stealing offence if he's already got out of Indonesia.
