Hi,

I am from Malaysia. I am currently on bridging visa and applying for protection visa. My visa has been refused by the immigration and I appealed for a review at the tribunal department. My enquiry is, I would like to study here, can I study on this visa?

If I study, and I received a negative result from the tribunal, will that affect my studies and do I need to go back to my country?

Can I apply for another visa? For example, a student visa to study or any other visa and withdrawing the bridging visa?

Kindly help me through this

Thank you

Hi there,

It depends what type of bridging visa you have. A bridging visa C - which you would hold if you did not have a substantive visa already but were applying for one, does not have work rights attached and I would assume that would extend to study as well. The purpose of a bridging visa is purely to allow to you stay in the country until your substantive visa is approved.
