My ex housemate owes me $1596.
On 24/01/2013, I attended court (she did not show up) and I received "form 15-residential tenancies act 1987".
After that I got a sheriff to get her to the court and on 28/06/2013, we attended the court.
However, she filled "form 38-statement of financial affairs" stating that she had no job and no money to pay me back.

At the moment I am not sure if she still lives in Perth or if she has a job.

I would really appreciate it if you could advice me on what to do now?

Hi Shabnam,
Sorry, I'm slightly confused by your question. Can you please clarify:
  1. Why did you receive a Form 15 - Were you the landlord?
  2. Do you still have contact with your former housemate?

Hi Shabnam,

Thanks for your reply and sorry for the confusion.

1. No I am not the landlord. The lease was under my name. but I rented a room to her with the agent's permission.
Form 15 only states that she legally owes me $1596.

2. No, I have her parent's address but I am not sure if she is still there. I also have her mobile contact number but again I 'm not sure if she still uses that number.

At the second hearing, she said that she has no money and no job to pay me back and the court said that I have to wait until she find a job. But I don't know how to know when she gets a job and what to do after that.

Hi Shabnam,
  1. Can you confirm which Form from the Magistrates Court of Western Australia?
  2. Given it's now been almost a year, have you considered calling your former flatmate on their mobile and/or via her parents to see if she is now in a position to repay before taking further legal/bankruptcy action?
