Asking for a "friend".
Court orders in place that state
"Failing agreement".. an 'interim' agreement outside court orders has been made in order to accommodate the children sporting attendance to be in effect during the children's rugby league/soccer season.
Question. In the event either party wishes to all of a sudden disagree with the interim/standing agreement outside court orders.. does the court orders then resume? Or does the interim agreement made outside court orders stand until both parties can agree on new agreement/resumed court orders?

Without seeing the orders it is hard to apply the proper context.

I suspect the court orders will resume if one party objects to the 'interim' agreement' but without the full context I am not confident. The Judge very likely explained the effect of the orders to both parties. A court transcript would likely answer your query.
