Hi,

Please help me in this matter.

Recently I was declined a credit card with two of banks. They said there is a default on my name.

I was surprised since it's only been 7 months since I migrated here. I asked for a free VEDA credit file and I found that they mixed up my record with another person.
  1. There are records before even I came to Australia
  2. There is wrong drivers licence number
  3. There are bank accounts and credit cards which do not belong to me
I have filed a correction with VEDA but there has no response for last 15 days.

Please help if I can take legal action against VEDA for all the mental trauma I am going through because of their mistake. Please suggest a law firm who can help me in this.

Thanks in advance

'Mental trauma', unless it is a medical recognised condition of a particular type and severity, does not constitute a cause of action. Inconvenience does not give you the ability to start a case.

If you have actual damages you can prove due to their negligence you may have a cause of action.
