Hi everyone, I'm a backpacker 6 months into my visa in Australia. I had an incident back in January where I pushed a girl in a bar and I got arrested for assault & re entering a licensed premises. I've been to court twice already and pled guilty for assault, not guilty for re entering. There's now a 3rd court date for my sentenceing - not sure when that is as I've had no mail regarding this, but im going to a different State very shortly to carry on with my travels.

What will happen if I miss the court date?

Thanks.

Contact the registry. Be proactive and don't make the system come to you. It has a way of making the outcome worse.

No, I don't think you are.
I think you're staying in Queensland.

Depending on the charge, you can be convicted in your absence; or
an order (called a "warrant") can be issued for your immediate arrest
(anywhere in Australia, and, with a bit of effort, anywhere in the world)
to bring you before the court; and/or your passport can have a warning
attached to your passport to prevent you from leaving Australia.
