I have been in formed about possible changes to an biannual event for motorcyclists. Apparently there will be changes about only licenced motorcycles being allowed. The event which is a three day event which in the past was open to all motorcycles and no motor vehicles allowed other than to transport said motorcycles and then parked in a parking area away from the motorcycle riding areas. Apparently there is an issue with liability and indemnity insurance also some involvement from work safe WA. Can I view the current laws/statues that would cover this ??

I don't know about the specifics, but the following might help with where to start looking.
Apparently there is an issue with liability and indemnity insurance
This is most likely be due to council requirements for public events (as far as I know, public liability insurance is mandatory for all public events).
also some involvement from work safe WA
This is most likely because the organisers have volunteers working at the event (the organiser is probably a registered association or similar to which workplace safety laws apply and I think those laws require workers compensation cover for all volunteers).
there will be changes about only licenced motorcycles being allowed
This one would probably be a decision by the organisers themselves. Given the nature of the other changes, I suspect that this decision would also be insurance related (unregistered bikes have no CTP insurance).

I could be wrong, but looks to me like the organisers haven't been complying with requirements in the past and have either been dobbed in, or made their own enquiries and decided to rectify the matter.

If you want to know a little about the complexities behind holding a public event, take a look at the Guidelines for concerts, events and organised gatherings.

Thanks Scruff, this gives me some clarity at least, no I can start to look into the specifics of disclaimers or such for unlicenced vehicle use at an event.
