Last year, I was caught shoplifting in UAE united Arab emirates, Dubai as a minor, they took my phone number and a picture of my id and made a write a paper stating that I would not attempt to shoplift again, i have not been contacted by this store or the police ever since.
currently, we’re trying to renew our visas to reenter the uae (we are immigrants much like the majority of the uae population) however they haven’t been accepted for reasons we’re not yet sure of, so I was wondering, would that have been enough to give me a criminal record/ineligible for residency?? do you not need direct police contact in order to file a case to even begin to have a record.
I suffer from severe paranoia so any help (on either sides of the answer) is appreciated, thanks!
