Police not allowing visits

I hope someone can help me here
A family member has been in police cells for 3 days now they won’t let me visit and when I ask if I can bring him fresh clothes they say no. This cannot be right it is Christmas time and impossible to find any legal help

Just an update to this situation my son has now been in custody for 14 days still without any contact even tho I have made numerous calls that get redirected only ring out unanswered. Had a court hearing today and was made aware that my son is being kept in a cell with only 20 mins exercise every second day. Is this normal ?
