I have a novated lease as a salary sacrifice. The company I have my lease through have under budgeted my account of which they should be notified of so that they can then in course notify me and advise. This did not happen and now I have a letter of demand and my credit rating is at risk.

Do I have any legal grounds should I have a default issued even though I had no idea that this had happened?

Hi Darby,

Have you contacted the company that you have your lease through?

Have you been able to negotiate a reasonable payment plan, or have you been able to meet what they're seeking in the letter of demand? You really need to keep on them hard to come to a reasonable solution. You don't want the situation to get out of hand - always follow up in writing, but also might be worth speaking with them.
