While I was with my ex-boyfriend he convinced me to get a TV on a lease for him saying he would make the repayments. It as such was not a gift as he was supposed to be paying for it. Repayments by him were never made but the TV was kept at his house. We have now broken up and he won't return the TV saying it was a gift.

How can I go about getting this back without going through the courts?
I have all the lease agreements and payment schedules showing the lease is in my name and payments came from my account rather than his.

Is there a clause in the contract that says they will reposses the TV if payments are not made? If so tell them where the TV is and they can come collect it. However defaulting would probably affect your credit rating.
