Can the child support agency withdraw money from a joint account , example from a married couple with a joint account or a business account.

No.. Section 72A of the Child Support registration and collection act clearly states that with regards a joint account, where it is not possible to identify any portion as belonging solely to one owner, a third party debt notice CAN NOT be issued..

A business account is an account belonging to the BUSINESS, not the debtor, even if they are a sole signatory, so the same applies

Are we talking about debt recovery, or just ordinary collection? If you authorise CSA to withdraw funds from a joint account, they can, but if they’re recovering an unpaid debt, they cannot take it from a joint or business account.
