One of my ancestors bought shares with several companies 80-90 years ago. Most of these companies don’t exist anymore while some ended up in mergers and acquisitions through the decades. From researching I’ve found existing organisations with potential links to some of those of which investments were made in the last century. I don’t have certificates or proof for any of the shares, just formal correspondence between administrative departments of the period listing the names of the companies. Is this worth pursuing further or are there statute of limitations that makes it impossible?
