Greetings,
my nieces were sexually abuse by there stepfather (in Brisbane, Australia) & mother(My Biological sister) abandon them and move to different country. I live in United States.
1.Can i get custody of my nieces?
2. Do i need to hire a lawyer?

1) You can *possibly* apply for parenting orders, but even that would depend on a whole bunch of circumstances... Who's care they are currently in, their ages, etc etc etc
2) Most definitely will require a lawyer well versed in international custody cases.... You should be abale to get same basic advice from a US lawyer to ascertain if an application is even possible
