Dear Sir Madam,
I bought a car on Friday and drove it home from a private sale. It caught fire on the following sunday in my driveway after I turned it on. thankfully it didn't burn down my house. Do I have any recourse at all from the guy I bought it off?....He basically told me tough luck when I called him...

I'll assume you got a safety certificate with the purchase, as you'd need that to change the registration. What was the cause of the fire? Specifically, was it caused by something that should have shown up in the safety certificate inspection as a defect?
