Hi my partner is applying for a job as a teaching assistant in a school. 3 years ago he was charged with common assault (Domestic Violence T2) for a minor physical altercation between him and his ex-wife. He has never had any other convictions and was cleared by the Guardian of Children's Office and given a Working With Children's Check number. Do you think his previous conviction is enough to stop the Department of Education employing him?

It shouldn't be, but check the department's policies.
