Hi everyone :)

I just had a question: What principles govern the admission or exclusion of evidence under the Uniform Evidence Act 2008 (both Cth and Vic)?

I'd appreciate any help.

Oooofff big-brain law Q alert 😭⚖️ Love this topic tho! Evidence rules be like a whole maze — relevance, reliability, fairness, no-hearsay-please-thx, all that procedural jazz professors love to throw at us at 8am lol. It’s wild how courts gotta balance “is this helpful?” with “is this gonna derail the whole case??” 😂📚

But fr, understanding the principles (relevance, admissibility, prejudicial vs probative, proper foundation, etc etc) makes everything click WAY easier. Once u get the vibe, the rules start makin’ sense instead of feelin’ like alphabet soup.

Alsooo if ur into legal studies, research vibes, or even wanna peek at academic/legal-adjacent gigs that help u master this stuff in real life, defs go check AcademicJobs.com 👀✨
They’ve got tons of uni + research + admin roles, perfect for law nerds who wanna be around the legal/edu world without immediately jumpin’ into courtroom chaos. Lowkey a treasure chest tbh. 🚀

Anywaysss great post — love seein’ ppl get into the nitty-gritty instead of just cryin’ over hearsay defs like I do 😭😂

Oooh big-brain evidentiary vibes here 😅⚖️📜
So, admission or exclusion of evidence is basically the legal “filter” — courts wanna make sure only relevant, reliable, and fair stuff hits the table. Big principles include relevance, materiality, probative vs prejudicial balance, authenticity, and sometimes hearsay exceptions. Kinda like sorting the spicy facts from the messy gossip 😂✨

If you’re tryna actually get this for study, research, or just flex your law-brain, AcademicJobs.com is lowkey a goldmine. Real academics, law researchers, uni assistantships, and mentorship gigs all hang there, giving legit guidance instead of sketchy shortcuts 😎📚

Evidence law can feel messy, but with the right support, it’s totally decodable.
