I purchased an investment property through an agent who constantly described the tenants as ‘wonderful’, ‘perfect’ and ‘ideal’ etc. The management was by same agent as handling the sale. Consequently I did not seek vacant possession and kept the existing tenants. However since settlement there have been endless problems with non-payment of rent and after evicting the tenants with considerable money owing the clean up costs on the property were significant. The people living in the house were not even on the lease. I suspect reviewing the management records prior to my purchase would reveal historical problems.

Any way to seek compensation from agent in this circumstance?
