I have a partner who has been diagnosed with dementia and is currently in permanent care. I have power of attorney and would like information regarding assets should I proceed as she can't remember her name let alone how to sign a document. What is the required time limit for separation when the partner is in permanent high care?

Hi Don,
Honestly, it sounds like quite a delicate and complex situation where it would be best for you to get personalised legal advice from a lawyer.
Are you married or de facto?
Have a look at the Family Law Courts "Separation and Divorce" page that has some good information.
