I purchased a second hand car from a dealer in Victoria. My husband signed the contract of purchase on 2/12/20 but they did not release the car to us until 6/12/20. I didn’t sign my car trade in until the 6/12/20. It wouldn’t start on 7/12/20 and we returned the car and they said it was a key issue and gave it back. It didn’t start again on 9/12/20, roadside assist could not work out the issue. We returned it to the dealer and requested our money back and traded vehicle and they refused, saying they would have the newly purchased car fixed and legally they don’t have to return our money. I have sent them a letter from the consumer site today requesting they return my money and trade in car. I have not received a reply. They have the vehicle they sold to us. Questions:
(1)Do we have any legal standing?
(2)What do we do next?
