So.…… a friend of mine has received a letter advising that she is being put forward as a defendant in a potential claim.
Basically they were wanting new lights put in their house and the electrician fell through the ceiling and broke a few bones.
My questions are -
Is there a precedence for this ?
- When the electrician provided a quote and the property met building requirements. The electrician is licenced and has insurance?
She has no liability insurance with her home insurance. (they are asking for this)

Thanks

I dont see that there is anything to worry about here. ... unless the friend was aware that the electrician was not licensed when hiring them to do the job?? Then you got a problem!
