Hi, Posting for a friend.
He was crossing the road from the pedestrian signal on the green light. A cyclist hit him and he fell on the road. He was taken to hospital by Ambulance and was treated with shoulder injury. Surgeon put a road in the shoulder. Police also issued the fine to cyclist and have the video evidence.
His lawyer told him, the cyclist doesn't have insurance or usually not insured and can't help him.
He is still suffering with pain and on the regular pain killer (panadol), can't drive the vehicle and lift a reasonable weight. the injury is to the right shoulder. he is right handed.

The questions is, his suffering due to cyclists negligence and reckless act, which is not a fair Act. How he can claim the compensation, should he still go to court and ask for compensation. Or there is any kind of public liability insurance on the road user available.
The cyclist is a young lady, doesn't own anything.

In motor accident, I think, usually the claimant can claim from green slip.
I am wondering, how can we help him. What could be his options. He is struggling financially and the lawyer cost is also a problem for him.

There has to be something or should be something for these cases.

Thanks for your time.
