SA Juror away from jury pool/room during deliberation

If a jury has been sent for deliberation and then a short time later a juror is seen wandering through the public area of the courthouse, unaccompanied by a sheriff/court officer, and then the juror speaks with the Prosecutor of that case - is this legal?
