My brother passed away without a will in May 2019. I engaged the services of a solicitor to apply for LOA and Probate. I am now the administrator. As my brother had no partner and children, the estate passes on to myself and my other brother. I would like to finalize the estate. But the solicitor is taking his time and his fees are getting out of hand. Can I dismiss the solicitor and finalize the estate myself?

If you are the Administrator. then what's the solicitor doing?

Has paid a few bills and organised section 32 to sell property. Contacted bank, council, that's just about it. Doesn't answer phone calls! Everything through email. It would be easier with phone calls as I would like questions answered. Fees now are ridiculous.
