I received a disciplinary letter on 11/09/2020 at 5pm on a Friday from my manager stating she had roster issues and my work performance in relation to rosters abc the program we use TimeTarget which isn’t the best rostering program I’ve ever used in my 20 years of administration in aged care. This disciplinary letter took me by surprised me as I’ve never been warned or manger performanced about my work no official warnings. So this is my 5th manager in two years as the aged care facility I work for is only two years old. I was in total shock and stressed out of my mind and ended up having a this weekend off on sick leave. My GP has been made aware that I had issues with my manager prior to me receiving this letter. Weeks before I got this letter I noticed my manager’s behaviour had changed towards me greatly I mean I had issues with her from day one but more so in the last few weeks. I was dealing with a lady who refused to reply to any of my emails, no communication, would send emails to other staff and not include me in on them when I should have been, didn’t know how to use our programs, would never let me know which staff called in sick after hours, would ask her who rang in sick and would lie to my face. I have email proof of many events that took place. Staff with no police checks working refused to do anything, we have a staff member working without even completing her employment paper work was made aware and the chef manager you couldn’t speak to as she would threaten you and make your life hell if you did. We had no phones for nearly two weeks and no fax snd we are an aged care facility. Anyway while I’ve been on sick leave stressed out of my mind about my disciplinary letter I learn that my manger was sacked and walked out this week by our head office. So what’s going on? I believe my manager has thrown me under the bus to save herself but I could be wrong? And they have stood another girl down for an investigation in relation to a resident death. I’ve been made aware that this meeting will go ahead once I return to work after my sick leave. My concern is what’s going on why did they sack the manager and what if they sack me also ? My GP has given me a capacity medical and to go on work cover I know that they will reject my claim if I do but I’m truly not sure if I should return to work go on more sick leave or lodge work cover. In my 20 years working administration I’ve never had any disciplinary action or any performance management taken out on me all my performance reviews have been perfect and have copies of all performance reviews. I’m at a loss as what to do. Any advice would help do I go to work Monday or claim work cover ?
