My partner has a child support debt transferred from New Zealand when we moved to Victoria. The child is now 20, so the other parent no longer collects child support.

The child support debt was around $13,000 which he was paying and got it down to around $6,000. The child support debt is now back up to $9,000, which he is paying every week directly via his job and his tax return go directly to it. However, he is still being charged late payment penalties every month.

How does he apply to have the late fees waived or at least reduced as it seems we are never going to pay this off?

Thanks

Who is he paying the debt to? The CSA - Child Support Agency in Australia?
