I am having trouble gaining employment in mining. My police clearance shows 5 convictions. I only have 3 more months before they are considered spent conviction. I need to get back into the mines so I can cover my debt and support my family.

I was wondering if I can apply to get my convictions spent early?

Hi, unfortunately I don't like your chances. I couldn't find anything in the SA Spent Convictions Act 2009 that would enable the courts to consider an application for an early spent conviction against the 5 year time frame for a juvenile conviction and 10 years for adult conviction. You could try based on financial hardship but I wouldn't expect it to happen and not within the 3 months you have left to wait. Good luck.
