Hi. We are interested in purchasing a house, and have just been informed, at the 11th hour, that a suicide occurred in the house last year (the tenants brother). Our question, is that if we go ahead and buy the property, then knock it down and build a new house, and then sell it in 10 years time, do we still need to make future purchasers aware that a suicide took place when a previous owner had the property (and that house has been replaced)? I read somewhere that the new owner (us) wouldnt have the same responsibility as the previous owner who owned the property when the death occurred - but I would like to check. Thanks, Chris
