Hello
I was arrested aged 19 with no ID present and no prior criminal record.
Police detained and searched me and asked me to state my next of kin, which then I stated my uncle, our address and my situation, I was his carer.
I was then arrested and taken into custody and driven home to show them my ID.
Police then tried going through my phone but it had a dead battery.

Was this legal for the police to do so, as I suspected it was because they were going to arrest me and I was allowed to contact a family member? Thank you for the help.
