Hi, I'm asking for my friend.

He was convicted with common assault (fine $1000, good behaviour bond for 1 year). He is planning to apply for permanent residency with his girlfriend, as the main applicant. Will the conviction affect their application?

Thanks. :)

There is a requirement to be of "good character" in most classes of visa.
Your friend would be well advised to engage a solicitor who is also a Registered Migration Agent.
