UK Credit Card Debt - Collect Even Though Living in Australia?

Hi there. Please could you help me with the following information request. I've been living in Australia for the last few years. But I am unable to pay my UK bank credit card debt back (£8,000). I was using the card while I lived there. Can the bank issue UK debt collectors or court judgements to Australia to collect goods, etc? or what would be the process as I am living in Australia full-time now?

Sorry, but you can't hide in the colonies from your UK debt.
