Sale of unclaimed/uncollected/unpaid vehicle

I work for a mechanical business and am wondering what the process is in QLD to be able to sell a vehicle to recoup costs. The owner has been ignoring us for almost 2 years now. We have attempted contact multiple times and have recieved no communication.
Do we need to do anything formal prior to advertising? I have read about placing a mechanics "lien" on it but nothing in australia/qld.

Basically, if you didn't have the required signage it's likely you'll need a court order.

We have signage regarding the "act" and sale after 6 months. However this is the first time it's been an issue.
