I've been working with a multitude of insurance providers for IT Contractors. I'm trying to find cases where Professional Indemnity and Public Liability was actually claimed against. To my knowledge it only happens in extreme cases of negligence, and I've only found examples without any actual reference to a real case.
I've also asked for stats and cases from said insurance providers and they had none to give.
Does anyone have more information on this *cough LexisNexis Australian Law Reports please*? Context is Australian residents working for Australian companies (not heavily litigious countries like the US or CA).
It feels this might be a money grab for 98% of clients as an IT Contractor except in cases of client industry being Medical, Financial or Utility in nature.
