Hi there, my current partner is living with me in a de facto relationship. In his prior relationship which was de facto, he has found out his partner has been flaming the pension for herself while living with him. They had no joint bank accounts. Is my partner liable to Centrelink too?

I'm worried as I have invested all my savings into a house we own. We are paying the mortgage, but my input was $145,000.

Hi Bettyjune,

Are you saying that your partner's ex was fraudulently claiming the pension?
I am not sure whether your partner is liable- it depends on the situation, his involvement etc. However if he had no knowledge of what she was doing then I can't see how they would be able to go after him.
