My father passed away a couple of months ago now. I want to finalise his services such as email, phone, etc but there are a couple of complications.

He had no will and no estate. He has a loan for an amount I do not know as well as a bill with his internet provider. I would like to know if I can notify these services without assuming responsibility for his debts. He also has a final tax return which will need to be done. My father and I weren't really close so I would like to know if I am under any obligations or if I can walk away from this.

The estate is liable for the debt if there are any funds in it. Executors and relatives are not.
