I recently purchased a car from a dealer. He said I had to have 3 months rego on my trade in. I did that. Stupidly I did not ask to confirm rego status of car I was buying. He implied it had similiar 3 months rego on it. I took possession of the car on a Saturday. Drove it home and on Sunday did a rego check and discovered the car had been unregistered for 3 weeks. I immediately paid rego online. When I contacted the dealer on Monday he did not care. I suppose this is buyer beware and putting out advice to others with an online review that people should check a car is registered before driving it off that dealer's yard is fair and not defamatory. Also legally should he have disclosed rego status?
