I am an Australian citizen, married in Thailand to my Thai spouse. We have a daughter born in Thailand but is an Australian citizen with Australian passport. I was working in China for 12 months until a construction project was completed and have now relocated my family back to Australia to live and for me to work.

My wife has threatened to go back to Thailand and take my daughter with her. Can I stop her from doing this until custody of children arrangements are made?

I have grave concerns for her safety and welfare if she is in Thailand.

You can file an initiating application for a parenting order that restricts the child from being removed from the Commonwealth of Australia and places her on the airport watch list.

Speak to Legal Aid. Even if you earn too much to be funded, you can still attend a free consultation for legal advice.
