Hi. In a website of one of the ‘leading’ criminal law specialist, they mention four steps to how to avoid a criminal record in Melbourne, Victoria. The first step was according to this law firm is:
“Engage one of our criminal lawyers to have all charges struck out at a preliminary hearing, prior to evidence being called.”
Can anyone explain please what that’s mean? I couldn’t find any similar suggestion online from others in regard to avoiding the criminal record. All mentioned the diversion for example. I prefer to seek explanation here, instead of that law firm.

Appreciated your time in reading my post and hopefully I can get an answer here.

Regards,

its a sales pitch. Give them money and they will fix your problems....
I'm pretty confident that if you read the fine print it will say something about no guarantees.

Obviously having charges struck out is your goal but no-one would know if possible until well into case. Probable best case is diversion but again it all depends.
