I currently have interim family court orders for my son to see his father for 7hrs per week. I have however been made aware of my son experiencing sexual abuse at the hands of his father so the police issued an AVO. The AVO has now lapsed however jirt (investigation squad) have an open investigation and have yet to confirm the information that my son has disclosed.

Basically I am legally required to protect my son from harm, however I'm also required to Adhere to court orders...

I don't want to break the law but I need to keep my 6 year old boy safe...

I did have a lawyer, however I could not continue with the expense and had to chose to act for myself.

I beg you to please help.

This is a delicate situation. If I may, how long was the AVO in place before it lapsed?
