Part 7 of the Family Law Rules can be used if the FCCA Rules are insufficient. I've not looked closely at the differences but suspect the Family Law Rules allow for a wider range of circumstances and actions. Seems like people in Family Law cases are harder to locate and serve.

FCCA rules sch 3 effectively says which part of the Family Law Rules must be followed.

When I did it once, I took it in person and got receipt for service on the day.

Just call them up and follow up, they will not be in a hurry, it is routine for them.
