NSW Witness Too Scared to Give Statement - What to Do?

My partner's car was kicked in three different spots and he was punched in the face. We have pictures of the car and I spoke to the witness who told me she saw everything. The police also spoke to her and she told them verbally what happen but is scared and reluctant to have it written down.

Is there anything else I can do without her statement? I'm afraid he will get off.

Do police have any other identification evidence and seen damage to the accused's hand (from punch)? Anything else that ties the accused to the crimes?
