My son went on a school camp in 2015. This had in the previous 2 years been a free camp, subsidised by the sale of Entertainment Books.
In 2015, this was not the case; however, no notice of what the cost would be was sent to the parents prior to the kids going away. The school just sent an invoice for the outstanding amount after the event. I was furious at the time and this issue has been ongoing.
The school continues to roll the amount over each year.
I don't feel that I should have to pay, given no notice was provided of the cost. My husband had been made redundant at the time, so it was outside of our budget. I was given no opportunity to say we couldn't afford the cost.
Where do I stand in terms of this outstanding fee? Contact from the school has been limited and I think they think I am just going to pay it.
