Unilateral/Bilateral contracts

Hi,

New law student here. Could someone please explain to me if an online sports bet would be classified as a unilateral or bilateral contract? Additionally, would changing the amount paid out for a successful bet constitute as a variation to the contract if the contract states the option for the betting company to do so?
